KRISTI MAROC | Managing Partner, Squash Coach & Personal Trainer
Kristi Maroc is a sports business and public relations specialist, sports reporter, and a passionate squash player. She has a Marketing and Communications degree, and a Masters of Journalism majoring in sports reporting. She is also an Accredited Level 2 Coach through US Squash, and a Certified Personal Trainer through the USA National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Kristi was formerly the Director of Media and Public Relations at US Squash, where she led the global marketing and media coverage of the US Open Squash Championships, wrote and oversaw the editorial content of Squash Magazine, and managed US Squash’s digital content, web architecture and design.
Kristi has developed a deep understanding and love of squash and fitness through her lifetime involvement in the game. She was virtually raised on the squash court in Australia, and growing up she was a member of the state junior squad and competed in many national junior titles including the Australian Junior Championships. Over the past decade Kristi has shared her passion for squash with hundreds of players and teams, as well as competing herself for over 25 years in Australia, England and the United States.
Kristi began her career in journalism, as a Reporter and Producer for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Since then she has headed up marketing and events teams at Special Olympics Australia, the NSW Health Department, and was the International Media Manager at the University of Sydney. She continues her involvement with journalism as a contributing writer for numerous sports publications, is on the World Squash Day global marketing team; previously contributed to the World Squash Federation’s international pitch for the Olympic Games; and was formerly the US Squash representative on the United States Olympic Committee’s communications steering committee.
ODESSA WILSON | Yoga Instructor
Odessa was trained in yoga instruction in Bali, Indonesia, and she teaches Vinyasa, Yin, Wall Yoga, and Ariel Yoga. Her practice is rooted in spreading good vibes, helping everyone find their inner strength, and her workouts are dynamic and flexible. Her teaching style is dynamic, and she likes to base the sequences for her classes by checking in with her students first.
When not in the studio, you’ll find Odessa surfing…a way she likes to connect with people and nature. Odessa also travels the world to broaden her horizons. She has lived in Costa Rica and recently traveled extensively through South East Asia. She loves inspiring others and encourages you to take both small steps and big jumps.
Odessa will guide you through poses that will help open your hips, lower and middle back, IT bands, and shoulders, and increase your overall health and athletic ability!
HUGO VARELA | Touring Squash Professional
Originally from Spain, Hugo Varela is a professional squash player who is now based in San Diego where he trains and coaches. Hugo is actively competing on the PSA World Tour, and has a current career high ranking of world #165.
Throughout his career, Hugo has competed as well as coached players of all levels. He has run squash programs and trained players in Spain, Brazil and the United States.
